"I was curious about tattooing," the first words that began an invigorating new career for a young artist.

Seven years ago Monte inquired to his brother, St. Marq about this very statement. Before this Monte attended SAA (School of Advertising Art) and upon graduation began working at a publishing company (ADPI) as Art Director doing everything from children's book illustrations to logos. Not being completely satisfied with the gratification of this job, Monte then decided to back down from the marketing and advertising industry. At this point, the soul searching began.

Monte had never toyed with the idea of tattooing, until 1995 when he approached his brother St. MarQ about the thought. For a short period of time, Monte apprenticed under the likes of St. MarQ and Junior Purvis in Indianapolis, IN and he began to acquire the skills needed to become a tattoo artist. For six years Monte has built a solid portfolio, capturing the images from the Virgin Mary to the Powerpuff girls. He is now being recognized by tattoo magazines all across the country, and has won numerous awards for his outstanding achievements. Every tattoo is enhanced by the unique style that Monte brings to his work. With avid attention to detail and life giving realism is shown throughout his art, Monte's work has been described as a painting upon the skin.
